BAYREUTH BURSARY COMPETITION
Travel bursary to Bayreuth Festival awarded annually to young Wagnerian singers of all voice types who are based in Britain and under age 35.  First Prize: tickets for performances at Festival with travel and accommodation.

CARDIFF SINGER OF THE WORLD COMPETITION
The biennial competition is open to singers at the start of their professional careers, aged 18-32.

THE DUNRAVEN WELSH YOUNG SINGER OF THE YEAR
The competition is open to singers between the ages of 11 – 30 years studying classical singing on a full/part time basis who meet at least one of the following criteria: Were born in Wales, have Welsh parent(s) or grandparent(s) or educated in Wales.

EARLY MUSIC NETWORK

INTERNATIONAL OPERA AWARDS
The International Opera Awards were founded in 2012 in partnership with Opera Magazine. The aims of the International Opera Awards are simple: To raise the profile of opera as an art form, to recognise and reward success from those involved in opera and to generate funds to provide bursaries for aspiring talent in opera from around the world.

KATHLEEN FERRIER AWARD
This annual competition is open to singers of any nationality. Applicants must be under the age of 29 at the final audition for the competition. They should also have completed one of the following: at least one year of a continuing higher education course in music at a recognised UK conservatoire or specialist music school; at least one year of equivalent private study in the UK with a recognised vocal coach, or be resident in the UK having completed such a course.

JACKDAWS MUSIC EDUCATION TRUST MAUREEN LEHANE VOCAL AWARDS
The annual Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards have been supporting aspiring young singers for over 20 years. Age range 22-30.

MICHAEL JAMES MUSIC TRUST
The Trust makes annual awards to advance education in music, particularly music performed in a Christian setting for the enrichment of worship. Priority is given to young organists and choral scholars.

THE JOHN KERR AWARD FOR ENGLISH SONG
The aim of the award is to promote the English song repertoire in the United Kingdom and other countries.

THE MARIO LANZA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The Foundation was established in 1976 to advance the musical education of singers by awards and scholarships, and at the same time to perpetuate the memory of MARIO LANZA. The Foundation holds an annual competition in conjunction with the Birmingham Conservatoire. A monetary award is presented to both the winner and runner-up, the winner also receives “The Pauline Franklin Medal“, a medal struck in memory of one of the original Trustees of the MLEF, and who was also founder of the British Mario Lanza Society in 1961.
In addition, monetary awards are awarded to deserving applicants during the year who live in the UK and are studying singing full-time at a college or conservatoire. Website: http://www.bmls.co.uk/mlef.htm

LIVE MUSIC NOW
Live Music Now develops the potential of outstandingly talented players based in the UK, at the start of their careers. Musicians joining LMN have generally finished their advanced musical training and are beginning to establish themselves are professional performers. They are usually between the ages of 20 and 30 and looking to expand and develop their musical and outreach skills.

MOCSA YOUNG WELSH SINGER OF THE YEAR
Competition open to singers with a Welsh background, who on the closing date of the Competition, are over 18; studying classical singing, on a full-time basis only, at any university or college in the United Kingdom.

MOZART SINGING COMPETITION
This annual competition is open to singers of any nationality born on or after 23rd March 1988. All items presented must be solos with piano accompaniment (or unaccompanied if appropriate). At least one item by Mozart must be performed at each stage of the competition.  Tel 01646 680009

NATIONAL OPERA STUDIO
Provides 1-year course of intensive training for young professional singers in conjunction with main UK opera companies. 12 singers selected each year. Grants and scholarships available, mainly to cover course fees. Audition fee.

FREDA PARRY SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGERS
The Freda Parry Scholarship Fund holds an annual singing competition before a public audience in Southend-on-Sea, Essex every September.  Applicants must be: under the age of 29; permanently residential in Essex; following or about to begin a course of advanced singing at a music college or university and/or achieved Grade 8 Merit or above and receiving private singing tuition. RPS CHILCOTT AWARD
The Chilcott Award offers £10,000 to an emerging British Opera Singer, and is given in memory of Susan Chilcott, one of the outstanding singers of her generation, who died from cancer in 2003 aged 40. The Award is given every two years to a British Opera Singer, aged between 23-33 at the closing date, to enable advanced training or career development. Possible uses might include some permutation of: tuition, coaching, audition preparation, audition tours or publicity and promotion.

WIGMORE HALL / KOHN FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL SONG COMPETITION
Competition open to singers and pianists from around the world, aged 33 or under, who are keen to embark on significant recital careers. Providing an invaluable opportunity for feedback and guidance from a jury consisting of the highest calibre of internationally renowned artists and directors from the world’s elite concert halls and music festivals, the Competition also promotes the exchange of ideas between artists from all over the world, and presents an important platform for public performance and the expansion of repertoire.
