KATHLEEN FERRIER AWARD

THE MARIO LANZA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The Foundation was established in 1976 to advance the musical education of singers by awards and scholarships, and at the same time to perpetuate the memory of MARIO LANZA. The Foundation holds an annual competition in conjunction with the Birmingham Conservatoire. A monetary award is presented to both the winner and runner-up, the winner also receives “The Pauline Franklin Medal“, a medal struck in memory of one of the original Trustees of the MLEF, and who was also founder of the British Mario Lanza Society in 1961.

FREDA PARRY SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGERS

RPS CHILCOTT AWARD
The Chilcott Award offers £10,000 to an emerging British Opera Singer, and is given in memory of Susan Chilcott, one of the outstanding singers of her generation, who died from cancer in 2003 aged 40. The Award is given every two years to a British Opera Singer, aged between 23-33 at the closing date, to enable advanced training or career development. Possible uses might include some permutation of: tuition, coaching, audition preparation, audition tours or publicity and promotion.

Competition open to singers and pianists from around the world, aged 33 or under, who are keen to embark on significant recital careers.
