We would like to congratulate Recital Scheme Artist, Ryan Corbett, on his several engagements in the recent months, and share some of his highlights.
In July, Ryan performed Vaclav Trojan’s accordion concerto ‘Fairy Tales’ with the seniors of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland at Ayr Town Hall. The work is comprised of seven movements each based on a different fairy tale character or scene.
In August, he went on to perform at the Edinburgh Festival with flautist Marie Sato at the Royal Over-Seas League’s recital series and in the BBC Spiegeltent for their special In Tune broadcast on Radio 3.
In September, Ryan became the first accordionist to be selected for the BBC New Generation Artist Scheme and has also given two performances, which will both be broadcast later this year. He also performed with the accordion quartet from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at the Scottish Parliament for the 175th anniversary of the conservatoire in November.
