Student Grant Awardees, oboist Ewan Millar and trombonist Meggie Murphy, have been announced as Emerging Musician Fellows 2023/24 with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra! The Emerging Musicians Fellowship offers musicians at an early stage of their career, a paid and immersive professional orchestral experience, both on and off the stage during the course of a year.
Ewan Millar commented: “I decided to apply with the hope of getting some proper professional orchestral experience – the scheme is so generous in time and opportunities that applying was a no brainer…I’m thrilled to have been accepted.”
Meggie Murphy said: “I am really excited to have gained a place on the programme and to receive world class mentorship, especially from this incredible brass section!”
Both Ewan and Meggie have been awarded The Countess of Munster Musical Trust Study Award for 2023-2024.
