Imogen Cooper was recently awarded a DBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2021 in recognition of her services to music.

Imogen studied in Paris, London and Vienna and went on to establish an international reputation as a pianist of great virtuosity. Imogen is particularly highly regarded for her interpretations of the Classical and Romantic repertoire but is also a supporter of new music and has premiered works at the Cheltenham International Festival. Imogen has played at the BBC Proms and with all the major British orchestras but also has performed around the world with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw. Imogen has performed solo recitals internationally, and she is also a committed chamber musician, having performed regularly with the Belcea Quartet and cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton. Imogen has recorded extensively.

In 2015, Imogen founded the Imogen Cooper Music Trust to support young pianists on the cusp of their professional careers.
